- The Real McCoy Comments:
This is a birthday speech that is written
for a son to give on his father's 60th birthday. Of course,
it can be adapted for a daughter to use. And, of course, your
father can be older, or younger, than 60 years of age.
Please keep in mind ... your Dad is very
special!
There is nobody else in the world like
your Dad. And it's at times like this when it's important
for you to tell him just how special he is. This is the time
for you to remember the small - and very personal things -
about you and your Dad. You know what they say about it being
the small things in your life that count ... 'we
do not remember days; we remember moments!'
Now I cannot even try to capture those
magic moments for you in this speech of mine. Because everybody
has different memories, different moments and different magic's!
But what I can - and have - done
for you here, is provided you with a speech 'framework' that
encourages you to insert your own memories and moments. If
you follow this 'framework' and include one or two little
stories or memories of your own, you'll have, what we call
in Ireland, the 'makings'of a
great speech for you Dad's birthday.
