This is a happy … grateful … and ‘I’m
sad to be leaving you all’ … speech. It’s
a speech for someone who has worked for many years in
a company and over the years was promoted into different
positions (or maybe worked in different departments).
It’s a speech that says ‘thank
you’ to the company for being good to you,
for teaching you so much and for being a good place
to work in. Above all, it’s a speech that says
‘thank you’ to
all your good friends and colleagues for their friendship
and support over the years and recalls some the happy
or amusing times and incidents that you enjoyed together.
Of course you will have your own ‘happy incident’
stories that you will want to use in your own speech.
In this speech I’m giving you three examples of
the kind of incidents that I have in mind, but most
importantly, I’m showing you how to use ‘linkages’
to link your little stories and reminiscent together
and make everything flow naturally and easier for you.
